Frequently Asked Questions
- Why is buying post consumer recycled products important?
- You’ll be surprised by how much impact you make when buying post consumer recycled products! In addition to saving some trees, your purchase will:
- Save energy wasted in harvesting virgin materials
- Preserve oxygen-producing forests
- Eliminate landfill waste
- Prevent harmful dioxins, furans, chlorines, and other carcinogens from entering our ecosystem, our water, our food, and our lives.
- Help create a sustainable planet!
- How much post consumer recycled content do your papers contain?
- Every recycled fine business paper we provide has a minimum of 30% post consumer recycled content, with most of them containing 100% post consumer content. Most of our papers are also processed chlorine free, FSC certified, Carbon Neutral Plus, Green Seal certified, made with Green-e Renewable energy, and made in the USA.
- Are your papers American made?
- Yes! Dolphin Blue's products are only made in the United States. Buying American made products is important in fostering strong local economies. Buying local provides jobs for your neighbors and creates prosperity for your community. Sourcing only American made items significantly reduces the environmental footprint of our products, saving great amounts of fuel and resources otherwise used to transport foreign made products from overseas.
- What machines are compatible with your recycled business papers?
- All of our recycled business papers are 100% compatible with your office copier and laser printers. These papers will perform as well as any non-recycled sheet. Please refer to your machine's use manual to ensure your printer can handle thicker paper weights, especially cover stock weights. Many standard printers cannot handle these cover weights, which may cause machine jams.
- What paper weight do you recommend for my paper use?
- We offer a wide selection of recycled business papers. We recommend writing weight papers for letterhead (20 lb and 24 lb available), text weight papers for brochures and resumes (70 lb available), and cover weights for business cards, post cards, and other marketing collateral (80, 100, 120, 130, 160 lb available).
- What brands of recycled business papers do you provide?
- We pride ourselves in offering only the most sustainable paper brands available. Our most environmentally responsible brands include Smart Papers Genesis, Neenah Environment, Mohawk Beckett Concept, Mohawk Strathmore, Southworth, and Wausau. We have swatchbooks available if you would like to take a closer look at our sustainable paper lineup. Look for our Southworth and Wausau lines for fine business papers with cotton mixed with post consumer recycled fibers. Our Neenah Classic Columns, Linen, and Laid lines provide a great selection of textured cover stock papers to choose from.
- Do you provide printing on your recycled papers?
- Yes! We print exclusively with soy-based inks to ensure the most environmentally friendly printing process possible. Please check out our printed products section on the top navigation bar to see our standard printed items offering. If you don't see the item you're looking for there, please give us a call and we'll work out the details for a customer job.
- What does FSC certified mean?
- Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified products adhere to quality standards that mandate responsible forestry and social awareness in procuring materials for production. Buying products made through conscious production choices creates an ethical relationship between the producers, resources, and consumers of a product.
- What does Carbon Neutral Plus mean?
- Products made Carbon Neutral Plus are created in ways that reduce carbon emissions and conserve Earth's natural resources and habitats. These products have reduced carbon footprints through investments in energy conservation and renewable energy resources.
- What does Processed Chlorine Free mean?
- Processed Chlorine Free means the item is whitened without chlorine or chlorine-containing compounds. Buying PCF products helps prevent chlorine produced dioxins and toxins from entering our ecosystem, which deteriorate the environment and pose health risks to our immune and reproductive systems.
