Dolphin Blue papers are the most environmentally-friendly stocks available. All business card papers are:
• 100% post-consumer recycled • Carbon Neutral or Carbon Neutral Plus
• FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified • Green Seal Certified or Green-e Wind Energy certified
 
• All inks with are soy base, with the exception of special printing methods.
• We offer a variety of paper weights from the industry-standard 80lb. up to 130 lb., and we offer flecked and plain papers in a variety of whites and colors.

Ordering Green, Recycled Business Cards from Dolphin Blue

Dolphin Blue business cards are printed on 100% post consumer recycled stock using offset or digital printing produced from your artwork. Before you order, ask your graphic designer whether your card design is four-color “CMYK” or requires specific “PMS spot colors.”

Once your order is placed, we will send a confirmation email with a .ftp artwork upload address. If you do not have artwork we can recommend designers to assist you with your business card design.

We will contact you if we see any questions or concerns about your business card designs.  Before we go to press, we will send a proof of your artwork for final approval.  Please contact us at 800.932.7715 with any questions.

Trapping is the precise relationship between two ink colors when they abut together on a printed sheet. Your designer should incorporate a 'trap' into your artwork. If no trap is added, a white gap may appear between colors. If too much trap is added, a dark line will appear where the colors overlap. Click here for examples of trapped images.

What are the environmental attributes of your printed business cards?

ALL of Dolphin Blue's recycled business cards are printed on the most environmentally friendly paper stock available - 100% post-consumer recycled paper. The paper stocks used to produce our recycled business cards are also Green Seal Certified or Green-e Wind Energy certified, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified, and Carbon Neutral or Carbon Neutral Plus.

Many of our post consumer recycled papers offer a flecked look. There are other 100% post-consumer recycled papers that are smooth that have all the characteristics of a virgin paper.

Do you have an artist who can help me with my design?

Dolphin Blue requires print-ready artwork; if you need a reference to a creative and reliable designer Dolphin Blue can provide a the contact information. We work with a variety of graphic designers who can assist you with your business card designs.

How do Dolphin Blue's printed business cards compare to business cards printed using virgin materials?

Unlike most printed business cards, Dolphin Blue uses the most ecologically responsible stock available, post-consumer recycled paper. In fact, all of our business cards are printed with soy ink on 100% post-consumer recycled paper, and are FSC-Certified, Green Seal Certified, and Carbon Neutral. Our environmentally responsible business cards are also made in the USA to keep our local communities and neighborhoods financially strong and socially responsible.

Do you offer ''glossy'' business cards?

No, we do not print our recycled business cards on glossy stocks for a variety of reasons. First, a glossy surface requires a varnish coating that is loaded with highly toxic VOC's, made from a petroleum by-product, which are bad for air quality and our planet. In addition, gloss paper requires special "heat-set" print equipment that uses an excessive amount of energy and produces extreme heat.
