All HON® File Cabinets listed on this page contain, at minimum, 25% post-consumer recycled steel. Through successful collection and processing of steel-containing goods that have been discarded, steel is given a second life in a HON® cabinet. That saves about 95% of the energy needed to make virgin steel and eliminates polluting emissions from manufacturing with raw materials. Recycling also reduces landfill requirements.
HON® uses low-volume, high-performance packaging to minimize waste from shipping materials by:

Combining corrugated board with recyclable stretch wrap to reduce the volume of material requiring disposal

Incorporating as much recyclable material as possible into packaging

Engineering the mix of recyclable packaging materials with non-recyclable elements to simplify recycling for HON® customers
